ok - what happened?? for some reason this photo loaded - have I shown this yet?? It's my daily quick notes and it's a perpetual, year to year journaling piece.  Each tag is a month section with a card for each day.  So as each day passes, I note a few words about the day, then the following year will add below this years' notes. Over the years I can enjoy the "same time last year"!

Merry Christmas!!

(I am still trying to get more pictures to load here or maybe change blogs?? ) I hope everyone had a wonderful day! mine was awesome!! and I'm starting to get my crafting brain going again---I look forward to just playing.

A little bit of catch-up

Perpetual Journal

Hi All!! I saw this idea along the way and thought it would be fun to try - There is a card for each day of the year, on which I will write a few words relative to the day.  Year after year, notes are added as the days roll around and I think it'll be fun to remember and compare the same date as the years add up! And I didn't have to wait til New Year's to start writing - it's been a month and I'm still "noting"!!LOL!! (PS: the tags separate each month and are decorated.  The daily cards are each 1/2 of a 5x8 lined index card so are approx. 4" wide, and I rounded the corners)

Thankful for You

I found a different way to make a cascading card and wanted to give it a try.  The Autumn colors were nice to put together and thr ribbon from World Market really dressed it up.  I added some gold-inked leaves to the punched flowers.

Happy Birthday to "Made 4 You Cards" !!!

I thought it seemed like a year since my grandson got me started thinking about a blog and then actually doing it!! After checking back, I found I was right - it has been a year and it has been fun- (even though it is more journaling my projects than an interactive blog at this point)!
So here is another 1st (in addition to my 1st year LOL!).  I have not made tags before that were for going solo - ie. serving as a card- and these were for a swap (also a first for me!) at my local meet-up: the Awesome Lansing Scrapbookers!

I saw a wonderful idea at the last weekend crop i attended, Chenny made an awesome little book for her niece.  and Ioved it so much, I made one similar for my grand daughter!.  She's four now so I used the "Once Upon a Time" cardstock pad from DCWV and cut the little girls out using " Everyday Paperdolls" and also the Dressup Paperdolls from Cricut. Each page is matboard, covered and embellished - I kept adding sparkles!!

Sister Trip

HI!! Our trip was beautiful and we seem to have perfect timing for weather cooperation! This is a photo wallet I made for our parents and so far, these are the only photos I have printed!! I do like the "wallet-sized" prints - quick, easy and convenient to share!
All this from 2-12"x12" cardstock and decorative papers, with a few shiny stickers! - room for 22 photos!! (I added a "belly band" to hold it closed) When you look at the photo wallet, it is not usually wide open like this so the pictures are mounted to be right-side up as you open the wallet- unfold and flip and turn!!

Fun times!!

Hi!! I have had a birthday since last published and want to show you the great card my mom made for me, isn't it awesome?!

AND coming soon!: my sister and I are taking a trip together - I believe it is the first time we've ever been alone together for more than a shopping trip!  I am so excited and so of course had to make each of us a Smash Book. There are just samples of each because they have a lot of space for photos, journaling and keepsakes (we probably won't be able to fill them - sounds like another trip ahead for us!!)

Each has a different style of  paper (Both are from DCWV) the first three photos are from "book 1".

new Cinch!

Hey!! Did you notice in my last post- - - my first wire binding on that little book.  It went together very nicely, but I need to practice making the wires rounder. I put off getting any kind of wire binding machine but now that I have it, I am soooo glad and can see that it will be a great tool for me!!

I had a chance to make a couple books for ladies that I don't know.  Funny how important it is to me to have a little bit of a "profile" of them before I made the books.  Here's a few pages of the first one and I hope that it is everything she hoped for!! Having a special request sure puts a different thought process into action!! Fun times!!

I have had some good times rounding out my equipment and supplies, along with becoming a Close to My Heart "consultant".  So now, I feel totally ready to get busy with it all.  Here are a couple things I made to give away at our Family Reunion.  It was fun to see and hear the comments, especially because most didn't know i made them!

A Camping Birthday card

I am so happy that this came together and I have my Gypsy to thank for making it all work!   My grandson is having a campout birthday party so it was fun to browse - I used Nate's ABC's and various grassy pieces I found on carts I have.  It measures 8"x7" and may be a little larger than I like, but I wanted to make the pieces easier to cut and assemble.  Did you notice it's a side-step card?  I added the background piece of starred paper which changed the back section a little but I think it turned out ok. The tent is actually attached by a hinge to the starred paper - - and the birthday wishes are on the back!

Happy 4th of July !!! (almost)  and God Bless America!!!!

Boy! it's been a little while since I've posted - not because I haven't crafted, but I was in a "make a card and give it away" mode - so no pictures !

oops!!! looks like I rotated too far!LOL!!!

Same here...'sorry!!
I was lucky enough to be able to spend a full afternoon in my craft room( re-arranged and added a sofa/bed) and just created some simple cards for the 4th.  What a lot of great papers out there and I've got to be careful that I don't get caught in just using the paper with no crafting to it!! Rosettes seem to be my creativity on these cards, with a little stamping and heat embossing. and am kicking myself for not purchasing the star embossing folder when they were available - all sold out around here... oh well, there's always the next round of 40% off coupons coming up!!LOL!!

THANKS so much!!

As those of you know, it is such a thrill to have comments from crafters and I thank each of you for your kindness and taking the time to boost me up!!  You've been a great encouragement and I wish I could thank each of you individually!!
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and future moms! Mom did love her card and it was fun to give -  I'm sure there are a lot of happy moms with all the creative cards I've seen on blogs.  and now  - on to graduations and Father's Day real soon! craft on!!!

2nd Mother's day card

I had a blast last weekend at the crop in Owosso and had a mission in mind.  Shortly before I went I came across an idea for a cascading card by Dr.Sophia and it just struck me with it's beauty.  So that had to become the card for my mom.  I got started and it just came together in a way that let me create my vision!  There's a chance mom will see it here first but I think she may still enjoy receiving it.  I think the cascading style is open for many themes!!

Spring Fling Crop!

Hi all! I just returned from my first weekend crop!! and loved it! what fun to just scrap away to my heart's content!! and the support and encouragement is irreplaceable and makes for great memories with new friends! (Yep  - I've got these (!) all over the place
:-) And I got so much done with plenty of time to chat, eat, relax and even take in a little walk between raindrops.  It almost seemed like 'Vegas, where time is not an issue. Here are a couple photos of the big space and my little place (there IS caffeine in wine right?? - that's what "they" said...)

Folio style album

This album started out as a pattern from a youtube video by Tewtami, but came together well enough to make it real! I have a long way to go on learning how to best embellish, but finally jumped in and will probably still add to it.

There is a LOT of "real estate" in these albums. There are flips, pockets and full pages to add photos and journaling.  I had a blast adding the patterned cardstock to the pages and with a little help from my friends, I think it carries a good look.  I learned a lot from putting it together and will get another one going next weekend at my first crop retreat!! Yahoooo! I wonder if I'll sleep?  How do these things go??LOL!!
Thanks for visiting!!
